Interactive Whiteboards
More of you have an interactive whiteboard available for fulltime or part-time use this year. Some of you have access to a SMART Board; some of you have access to a Mimio. With either type of interactive whiteboard, you have software with many options to keep your students engaged in learning. Even if you do not have an interactive whiteboard fulltime, you can still explore the options that the software offers you. This software can be downloaded on your computer at school and at home. Ask your ITRT for more information about this.
I have been asked where to go to look for resources already created with interactive whiteboard software. There are many resources available. I have listed just a few to get you started. Note: In order to view these resources, you will need to have the appropriate software downloaded onto your computer.
SMART Board Resources:
Search for links to resources by grade level and SOL from SmartTech
Google Custom Search
Links to Resources
Links to tutorials, Smart Responders (Senteos), and lessons for Elementary, Middle, and High School
Mimio Resources:
Mimio Connect

Of course, you can always explore the software and create something to fit your needs like the vortex sorter displayed above. Again, your ITRT would be happy to assist you!
