Write About

Need writing inspiration, purpose and organization for your students? Write About is the answer.  

      

Write About is a great resource to get students interested and eager to write, with tons of ideas to explore and get imaginations going. But Write About is so much more than just a site of writing prompt ideas. It is an online platform where students can write with purpose, for an audience - their classmates or maybe a group that shares a common interest - and interact with each others' work in a safe, controlled way.  

       

The site itself has great tutorials to get you started.  Participation in the Write About community is free. Teachers can have 40 student accounts with 5 posts each.  You can upgrade your membership for a fee should you want/need more accounts or unlimited posts.  

   

               

If joining a "community" or learning the ins and outs of a new platform sounds like more than you need, you can just go for the inspiration alone.  Not a "Writing teacher"?  There are many ideas there that serve other disciplines too.  Try searching either the ideas tab or galleries tab by topic or theme, age group, etc.  and enjoy browsing all the great ideas.  Check out Write About!
