EdPuzzle

With more and more teachers shifting content to online environments, EdPuzzle.com give teachers an additional tool to create relevant content that students can access at any time.

EdPuzzle allows teachers to easily create online lessons using video clips that can have questions added to them.  EdPuzzle allows teachers to monitor the progress of the class AND reports the student's score so that teachers know who has completed the video and how well the students performed on the questions.
This is what the student sees during an EdPuzzle video.  The video plays until it gets to a question the students must answer. If the student has missed the information, they can rewatch the segment.
Any video clip can be uploaded to EdPuzzle, but teachers will probably want to focus on the thousands of YouTube video already out there.  If a video is too long (like most), EdPuzzle lets you trim it to the desired length.  You can then add questions that the students will answer while watching the video.

Class rosters can be imported from Google Classroom.
Teachers can use EdPuzzle for free with the their Google account.  They can also link EdPuzzle to Google Classroom so that class rosters are imported and assignments show up in the class stream

One of the best features of the EdPuzzle is the reporting of student progress. EdPuzzle makes it easy to track the completion of the assignment so you can see what percent of your class has finished it.  Both Multiple choice and free response questions can be added to EdPuzzle videos.  Multiple choice options are graded automatically.  Teachers can also set EdPuzzle assignments to "Prevent Skipping" so that students must watch the entire video and complete each question. (Unlike Safe Schools).

Teachers can easily see progress of their class on each EdPuzzle assignment.

EdPuzzle is great for teachers looking to "flip" their classrooms.  It would also be a good way to present content online for "snow" or "cold" days.  I have used EdPuzzle quite a bit in my classroom this year and found it be a great way to present content asynchronously. Whatever your instructional goal, EdPuzzle gives you another tool to meet it!  Check it out at EdPuzzle.com!
