Need a quick way to gather responses, Mentimeter is a free online tool that allows audiences to interact by way of a simple poll. Menitmeter allows teachers to create a simple question from their homepage and instantly turn that into a poll by sharing a URL which can be accessed from the web or from a Smartphone. This is a quick and easy way to do one poll at a time instantly and it is currently a free service.
For an example of a quick question, CLICK HERE .....just in time for THIS weekend!!!! As you enter your choices, a graph is populated in real time. (The poll is now closed....and it looks like Kentucky is the favorite to win the NCAA in 2012)
As the question writer, you have a link to the graph of responses. The graph page also creates a QR code to allow for quick access by Smartphones, iPod touches/iPads with cameras. The graph of response to the above poll is HERE!!! (you will find the link to the qr code in the lower, right-hand corner of the screen AFTER you create a survey question). Also, if you click on the QR code icon, the graph does not show...this might be helpful if you don't want the audience to see the graph of answer choices. (Even though the poll is closed, you can still view the graph of answer choices.)
If you don't have access to a student response system (clickers), you could use Mentimeter with computers, iPods, iPads, or Smartphones (HHS or Teachers).
Enjoy!!!!
